Testing

Please Note: Testing options for COVID-19 are always changing. The information below may not reflect What-Your-Test-Results-Mean-1completely up-to-date information, but will be updated when necessary.

Where can I get tested?

  • Order your free, at-home COVID-19 test with Vault.
    • This saliva based test is free for all Wyoming residents! Teton County residents use your physical address.
    • Wyoming residents can order more than one test and can order additional tests if they need more.
    • Click here to see where you can drop off your Vault test once it is completed.
  • Call the Teton County Health Department at (307) 733-6401 if you are uninsured or underinsured.
  • Call the St. Johns hotline at (307) 739-4898 and choose option 3.
    • You will be prompted to complete a phone evaluation if you have any symptoms, no matter how mild.

Testing for Businesses

  • The Wyoming Department of Health is offering free COVID-19 tests for employers through the company Vault Health.
  • Click here to order the at-home tests for Wyoming-based employees.

Two kinds of tests are available for COVID-19: viral tests and antibody tests.

  • A viral test tells you if you have a current infection.
  • An antibody test might tell you if you had a past infection.

Who should get tested for COVID-19?

  • People who have symptoms of COVID-19.
  • People who have had close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more) with someone with confirmed COVID-19.
  • People who have been asked or referred to get testing by their healthcare provider, localexternal icon or state health department.

Not everyone needs to be tested. If you do get tested, you should self-quarantine/isolate at home pending test results and follow the advice of your health care provider or a public health professional.

Results

  • If you test positive, know what protective steps to take to prevent others from getting sick.
  • If you test negative, you probably were not infected at the time your sample was collected. The test result only means that you did not have COVID-19 at the time of testing. Continue to take steps to protect yourself.
