Water Quality Advisory Board

About

Community members appointed to the Water Quality Advisory Board (WQAB) will play an important role in protecting and preserving Teton County's water resources.

Flow ChartThe WQAB will work closely with County Staff to advise the Board of County Commissioners on Water Quality projects, policies, and initiatives. This board will be instrumental in implementing the Water Quality Management Plan by assisting staff with developing a vision for protecting water resources and establishing long-term goals, recommending projects for a cost-share program, and creating a process where projects can receive funding through the water quality SPET.

Meetings

Regular board meetings will be held on the third Friday of each month. Unless otherwise specified, meetings will typically begin at 12 (noon). They will occur at the Old Library building basement conference room, located in the Teton County Public Works building, 320 S. King Street, Jackson, WY. For those who want to attend virtually, please see the link in the agenda document posted on this page.

The Boards Role

The advisory board will play an integral role in making projects better. As envisioned, a project, policy or initiative will be proposed by a sponsor and considered in its relationship with the water quality plan. Public works staff will work with the sponsor to bring the proposal through review by the Technical Working Group and the Water Quality Advisory Board. The Board will work with Staff and the project sponsor to refine the proposal and consider how or if the project might be improved or coordinated with other projects to achieve economies of scale or access larger funding opportunities. The flow chart provides a general example of how information and project support will move during the evaluation process.
