Teton County, in coordination with the Town of Jackson, performed a multi-modal transportation study in West Jackson during the Spring and Summer of 2024. The Teton County Integrated Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Plan call for a significant mode shift to non-motorized modes of transportation, including that future transportation demand should be met with non-single-occupancy-vehicle options. Multimodal streets serve different modes and provide users options for safe, attractive, and convenient travel by vehicle, foot, cycle or transit. The study aims to identify multi-modal street improvements to address vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle, and transit safety and mobility issues (such as traffic congestion, crashes, and accessibility).
The entire Teton County community will benefit from a modern, safe, and efficient multi-modal improvements in West Jackson. The study area is encompassed by US-89/191 to the east, High School Road to the south, and South Park Loop Road to the west and north. The study area also extends south past Red House Road to investigate new potential road connections between South Park Loop Road and US 89/191.
The study was completed at the end of Summer 2024 and was presented to the Town Council and Teton County Board of County Commissioners.
Funding was budgeted through the Teton County FY2024-2025 Budget
