Long-Term Homeowner Exemption

If qualified, homeowners will receive a 50% exemption off the assessed value of the primary residential structure and up to 35 acres of land.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Property owner or spouse must be 65 or older at time of application
  • Property owner has paid residential property taxes in Wyoming for 25 years of more
    1. Years paid, address and county must be listed
  • Property owner must reside in the primary residence for not less than 8 months of the year
  • Must provide proof of age at time of application using a Wyoming Driver’s License, Wyoming ID Card, Passport or Birth Certificate

*If you previously qualified and received this exemption in 2025, please contact or visit the assessor's office to file a renewal affidavit.  

*If you are applying for this exemption for the first time in 2026, please complete an application and return it to the assessor's office.  

DUE DATE:  4th Monday in May, 2026.
