License Plate Series

Current Series & Issue

Starting in 2025, the new plate design featuring the Wyoming State Flag will be on the state's 20 specialty plates, the prestige plates and the standard plates motorists receive at the county when registering their vehicles.  All designs are required to include the Bucking Horse logo. 

Display Requirements

In Wyoming, owners of a motorized vehicle, excluding motorcycles, are required to display both a front and rear plate if there is a manufactured designation for the front plate. Wyoming plates are based upon an 8 year cycle.  The year 2025 is the first year in the 8 year cycle of the State Flag plate series. Wyoming law requires the license plate design to change every 8 years, and the new design to be readily distinguishable from the previous design.
