The Grove Apartments

Built in 2015, The Grove Apartments is the first of three phases of The Grove Planned Mixed Use Development located at 250 Scott Lane. The apartments consist of one three-story building that provides provides 20 Affordable rental homes on the second and third floors and three market-rate commercial spaces on the ground floor. Of the 20 rental homes, four are one-bedroom homes, 15 are two-bedroom homes, and one is a three-bedroom home. All homes are income and asset restricted to serve households earning <120% median family income.

  • Debt (bank loan secured by Housing Authority): $3,000,000

Demographic Information, 2015-2024

  • 48 households served
  • Of 28 households who moved out of The Grove Apartments: 
    • 11 moved to another home in Jackson - 1 purchased a free market home, 5 purchased deed restricted homes, 5 moved into employee housing, 1 moved into a market rental home
    • 8 left the area altogether
    • 5 were forced to move out because they were found to be in default (lying on an application, not paying rent, etc.)
    • 3 households did not share where they were going and 1 household experienced a death. 
  • As of the end of 2024, nine of the 20 current renter households have lived at The Grove Apartments for 4+ years. 
  • Current renter households include 30 adults + 22 children and adults work an average of 1.2 jobs. 
  • Renter households have worked for a variety of employers across the valley, including: St. John’s Health (3), Four Seasons, Stitch Upholstery (2), Self-employed housekeeping/cleaning services (3), One 22, Voices JH, Local Restaurant, JH Whitewater, JHMR (3), Blue Spruce Cleaners, Whole Foods, The Anvil Hotel, Self-employed landscaping, Teton County School District, Silver Dollar Bar, Habitat for Humanity, Self-employed carpentry, Rocky Mountain Connections, Self-employed freelance writing, Roadhouse Brewery, Teton Oasis, Hotel Jackson, Mangy Moose, High Country Linen, Brushbuck Tours, Mountain Man Flooring, Self-employed window cleaner, and LC Cleaning.
